Nandigram:Maoists call Jharkhand, Bihar bandh

Posted by Indian Vanguard on November 16, 2007

PATNA: The outlawed CPI (Maoist) has called for Bihar and Jharkhand bandh on November 19 and 20 in protest against the Nandigram killings and in support of the “struggling” farmers who are threatened to be uprooted from their land. The 48-hour bandh has been called by Central Committee of the CPI (Maoist) andthe outfit’s Special Area Committees of West Bengal and Bihar-Jharkhand.

The outfit has alerted all its members, sub-committees, squads, militia and People Liberation Guerilla Army (PLGA) to ensure that the bandh is a success.

“The red flag bearing government of West Bengal has come out openly in support of the capitalists. It has started uprooting farmers and their families from the land to make room for industrialists,” said a statement issued by Bihar-Jharkhand special area committee secretary “Rakesh” and West Bengal state committee secretary “Somen”.
